Taran Matharu
Taran Matharu is a New York Times bestselling author who found a passion for reading at a very early age. This is his 'earning & learning' recommendation
The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
Taran says:
"The Power of Habit is an extraordinary book about the psychology of habits and how they can change your life. Backed by science and fascinating anecdotes, Duhigg shows you exactly how to form good habits and break bad ones.
Although technically an adult title, it’s also really empowering for teen readers. Suffice to say, my writing routine has improved a great deal since reading this book, nearly doubling my daily word count."

Penny Joelson
Penny Joelson is an author who worked with disabled people as a teenager, giving her inspiration for her debut novel. These are her 'Health' and 'Earning & Learning' recommendations
'Health' - Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
Penny says:
"This is about a girl who is experiencing severe anxiety and agrophobia. I like it because it is an uplifting read that offers hope to anyone experiencing mental health issues."
'Family & Friends' - Indigo Donut by Patrice Lawrence
Penny says:
"This is a story about friendship, family and identity. The main character’s Dad killed her Mum when she was very young and she has grown up in care. I think Patrice explores the issues sensitively and it’s a gripping read."
